Traditional voting methods rely on trust in process. Skypunch reimagines voting by building verification, transparency, and administrative control directly into the system architecture. This is what it means to Invent Better.

Verifiable Ballots

For the first time, voters may verify their ballot after voting, playing a direct role in election transparency. Through a guided verification process, the system cryptographically confirms that a ballot exists, remains unaltered, and is included in the count. Unlike traditional methods—where voters must simply trust the process after mailing a ballot or leaving a polling place—this approach introduces measurable transparency. Certified Election Results

At Skypunch Technology, certified means more than issuing an attestation that procedures were followed. It means the election manager has completed a verification process confirming that no ballot was altered after submission and that each ballot is counted once—and only once. Upon verification, the Skypunch certification mark appears on the election results page as described at Election Verification and Certification.

Immediate and Direct Ballot Insertion

Unlike mailed paper ballots—which may be delayed or mishandled—ballots submitted through Skypunch are recorded directly into the tabulation environment without human handling. Voters may cast their ballot at their convenience and later verify their ballot, providing both efficiency and transparency.

Immediate Election Results

Digital tabulation eliminates manual counting errors from the counting process and eliminates the need for manual recounts. Election results are available within seconds of the close of voting. Results may optionally be published publicly, ensuring transparency and allowing stakeholders to receive official results directly from the system.

Eliminate Spoiled Ballots

The concept of a spoiled ballot is eliminated because ballot rules are enforced automatically. Whether requiring a minimum number of selections or limiting the maximum allowed, voters are guided to comply with voting rules before submission, preventing invalid ballots.

Ballot Shuffling

Ballot shuffling randomizes candidate order each time a voter accesses the ballot, helping ensure fairness in name placement. Shuffling may be enabled for some positions and disabled for others within the same election.

Ability to Correct Mistakes

Voters may revise their selections at any time before final ballot submission. Administrators may correct configuration errors prior to the close of voting directly within the system—without requiring vendor intervention or reprogramming.

Email Reminders

Real-time participation tracking allows administrators to send reminder emails to those who have not yet voted. Reminders include a direct link to the ballot, helping increase voter participation during the voting period.

Copy Previous Elections

Organizations often vote on the same positions year after year. To streamline setup, clients may copy a previous election and update only candidate names and dates rather than rebuild the ballot from scratch. Combined with tools such as the nomination engine and candidate biography self-service, this feature is one of many time-savers offered by Skypunch Technology.

On-Demand Paper Ballots

When paper ballots are required, the system can generate voter-specific ballots that honor all election settings for that individual—displaying only the positions and options appropriate to their voter group or membership classification.

Reduced Costs

Printing, mailing, and tabulating paper ballots is costly, as is operating in-person voting locations. Transitioning all or part of that activity to Skypunch reduces administrative expenses while adding the benefit of cryptographically hash-chained ballots for an audit trail not achievable through traditional paper-based processes.

Comprehensive Reporting

Beyond final results, administrators receive detailed turnout statistics and filtering capabilities by voter group, special interest group, or up to four demographic criteria. See examples at the Sample Election Results page.

Archived Election Results

Election results remain accessible within your account for up to ten years, eliminating the need to retrieve historical records from physical archives. Data is encrypted and backed up multiple times across geographically distributed locations.
